In addition to everything else going on this past month, I also had the chance to test the LOL Swing top (affiliate link). From the moment I saw Jenn from Jennuine Design working on this pattern, I knew I had to have it! It’s everything my girls love in a top… the perfect amount of girlyness in the swing, comfort and wearability for their active lifestyle and super stylish race back design!
Of course I couldn’t stop at just one LOL Swing top, with two little girls I had to make two. And here’s another plus to Jenn’s design – you can make this top in either knit or woven! You’ll also find in her tutorial explanations for lengthening the top, so if you really wanted to you can make this top into a dress, BONUS! Purchase before August 7 and save 20% with coupon code “LOLRelease”
So here’s the question I always get…are your girls twins? Umm, no they’re not!! While I sometimes dress them the same, they LOOK completely different! I just don’t get it! Dressing them the same is really so I don’t lose my mind, if you have a sister or more than one little girl, than you know what I mean. The other one always wants what the other one has!! So to make my life easier they both of my girls get the same thing When buying fabric this is also more cost effective – find fabric you like and use your 40% off coupon all in one shot. I made two LOL swing tops (size 4 for Olivia & size 2 for Abigail) using woven fabric with this cute bicycle print. Perfect for an afternoon of trying to teach little Abby how to ride a tricycle.
This top is super cute, you’ll love sewing this for your girl. Keep sewing with pattern sizes newborn through 12 years included in this pattern.
Thank you Jenn for such an amazing pattern! She really put a lot of thought and work into this pattern as well as blood, sweat and tears I’m sure…don’t know how many times I poke myself when sewing. As a new pattern designer I now know how much attention is really needed from day one of pattern design to it’s final release. And even then you’re still haunted in your dreams
