Hi there! Say hello to Ollie… Hello Ollie! I had the pleasure of getting my hands on Bonnie’s new fabric collection a few months ago when I made some Star pillows for her quilt market booth. The collection is amazing and if you haven’t had a chance to sew something up with this new ORGANIC collection, what are you waiting for?!
Doesn’t that sound divine? Hello Ollie by Bonnie Christine of Going Home to Roost is Art Gallery Fabric’s very first Organic collection. It’s peaceful and so beautiful. I love the tranquil color story with the contrasts of red and black!
I chose Swanlings Bevy Peach, Dabbling Swan Plum and Village Tundra Sprout to make these LUXE pillows with a soft velvet back for Bonnie’s Quilt Market booth. I used gold and red piping as an accent on a few of the pillows and made my own piping with some extra Dabbling Swan Plum to add to the fourth pillow.
We just moved and I’m being completely indecisive about how I want to decorate my girls room but I know I will be making more of these pillows and you can too with our LUXE STAR PILLOW PATTERN.

You should have 7 pages, which will be pieced together left to right in numerical order. Be sure to print at 100%, no scaling needed. The finished star pillow measures approximately 20″ x 20″. You will need about 5/8 yard fabric (44″wide), one bag of Poly-fil for stuffing and one package of bias piping if you would like to accent the edge of your star pillow.
After cutting out your pattern and fabric, lay one piece over the other, right sides together, so that all the corners are matching. Pin and sew around the perimeter of the star with a 3/8″ SA leaving a 3″ wide opening for stuffing. Backstitch at the beginning and end of the seam to secure. Clip all of the corners and turn right side out.
If you’re adding piping, sandwich the piping between the layers, using a piping foot to sew around the perimeter leaving a 3″ wide opening for stuffing. Backstitch at the beginning and end of the seam to secure. Make sure to use plenty of pins to keep your piping in place or baste onto the right side of one of the layers before sewing together. Tip! Fold the ends of the piping toward the outside at one of the inside corners of the star. Clip all of the corners and turn right side out.
Stuff the pillow with Poly-fil. Close the gap in the seam by using a ladder stitch and Voila!! You have yourself a luxe star shaped pillow! I’d love to see your star pillows! Use #lilluxecollection and #llcstarpillow for your project…I can’t wait to see!
